How to View and Edit SVG Metadata

Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) files can have metadata embedded in them.

Windows® 11 has a very limited built-in embedded properties viewer and editor that can be accessed by right-clicking on any file, selecting "Properties" from the context menu, and then navigating to the "Details" tab. It does not, however, supports viewing or editing embedded SVG properties at all. However, it's possible to edit SVG metadata with an appropriate third-party software that has been designed for this purpose.

Some SVG editors have a built-in metadata editor, but using them to edit metadata often or in multiple files is cumbersome and time-consuming.

MetadataTouch™ is a multi-format metadata editor for Windows, that, among its capabilities, can edit SVG metadata properties such as title, date, creator, and keywords. It can do so one file at a time, and its Professional Edition can also do so in a group of files en masse, with the following possible actions: change, append, prepend, and remove. The batch editing can easily be applied to multiple files across multiple folders in one go. It has a simple & straightforward graphical user interface, with an integral file explorer, making it ideal for easily editing metadata.
